American Legion Post 650 is a non profit organization whose members are Veterans, active duty military and their families who have served in war time and are still serving their community. The Post activily supports the Four Pillars of the American Legion - Veteran Affairs and Rehabilitation, Children and Youth, National Security and Americanism.

Post 650 was chartered by the American Legion in 1949 in Redlands, California. The Post was named after the first Redlands service member who died in World War II, Philip Marmolejo. Starting out as a small group of Veterans meeting at various locations, the Post charter members acquired land in north Redlands. The members built current Post facilities themsleves from laying the foundation, installing plumbing and electricty to the hall itself.

For many years, Post 650 provided an Installation Team for Post Installation Ceremonies throughout San Bernardino County. Annually, the Post co-hosts POW/MIA Day, Veterans Day, and Memorial Day ceremonies in Redlands. Its Honor Guard is the Flag Bearers for the Redlands Fourth of July Parade,

The Post is actively involved with the youth of Redlands, chartering a Boy Scout Troop and Cub Scout Pack, sponsoring a youth baseball team and high school students to attend Boys State.

The Post contributes and participates in Veteran Affairs and Rehabilitation activities and the annual District J L Pettis Veterans Hospital Christmas Gift Program. Assistance, information and direction are provided by the Post to Veterans in the Redlands community.

An Annual Police and Fireman Recognition Dinner is hosted by Post 650 and the Post is active in the Redlands Civil Patrol. The Post donates its facilities as a Polling Station for voters in north Redlands.
